🎨 Vinyl contact for the pocket insulation

The van has a number of spaces with visible silver insulation - the ceiling, overhead storage and the pockets most noticeably. Another friend with a camper put me onto some cheap contact (the stuff you'd use to cover school books to protect them) as a way to cover this up and make a nicer surface.

Today I started on the pockets (probably the fiddliest of the spaces). I'm undecided whether this finish will work well for the roof - it's very similar in texture to the plywood that makes up the walls, and I wonder if something more contrasting would go better. I was thinking about using fabric (held in place with spray adhesive) which might create a softer feel than the shiny vinyl.
